A Step By Step Guide To Planning The Perfect Honeymoon

By Ashley Bridge

Honeymoons are more often than not seen as secondary to the planning of the wedding itself, when, as far as memories go, they are just as significant as your day in church. It's a time that you'll remember for the rest of your life, so give careful consideration to honeymoon ideas and honeymoon locations.

Initially determine what your goals are for the trip and what you absolutely can't do without. Where do you want to go? Do you want to relax or be active? What is most important to you? Beautiful weather, sightseeing, adventure, cost, etc.

Trips to exclusive islands or resorts are traditionally popular, and for good reason. They mean that you can enjoy quality time together whilst relaxing from the busy timetable of the previous few months and losing yourselves in stunning surroundings.

Cruises are another option; they offer an equally peaceful, relaxing time whilst at the same time allowing you to take in a range of destinations. If you would prefer a more action-packed honeymoon, give consideration to an adventure travel trip or a mountain resort.

Regarding honeymoon locations, these are some of the most popular: Australia, Bali, Belize, Caribbean, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, French Polynesia, Greece, Hawaii, Italy, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Thailand.

Whichever type of location and honeymoon you decide on, try to make reservations at least 6 months in advance so that you'll have the pick of the rooms, and can start planning in general. See if there is a special honeymoon package available to enhance your time away; romantic extras like the honeymoon suite, champagne and bouquets of flowers will make your time away more memorable still.

Research and book restaurant seats, tickets, tours, and various other activities that require advance reservations, particularly so if you're traveling during peak season. Don't go overboard with planning though and make sure there is plenty of free time, especially during the first few days, in which you can just enjoy each others company without any other distractions.

Your overall objective should be to make your honeymoon different to an ordinary vacation. Along with your normal vacation items, try taking some fun extras with you, such as lingerie, bubble bath, candles and romantic music. - 30413
