Useful Tips for What Grooms Should Pack for Their Honeymoon

By Milton Kenny

Your honeymoon is no ordinary trip. Its in your best interest that you don't see it that way either. Trust us when we tell you that your honeymoon is most definitely a big, big deal to your bride. Just like her wedding, she has been fanaticizing about her honeymoon for years. And just like her wedding, her honeymoon must be perfect as well. So with this in mind, you can pretty much forget your plan to toss a few pair of socks, underwear, two shirts and a pair of jeans in a bag and head off your exotic honeymoon location. Odds are you need advice on how to pack. There is a lot of attention given to brides as to what they should take on their honeymoon, but us guys are often completely overlooked.

This list should serve as a good beginning point to help grooms think through what it is that they will need to bring with them for their honeymoon. As you begin to organize your trip, you will likely think of all sorts of small items that you may need to bring. That is a good thing.

Skip the Rush: This is a very important tip. Any seasoned traveler will tell you that the last second "travel rush" is a simply beastly thing. Trips of any kind can be stressful, and the last second rush only makes things worse. With this in mind, you should strongly consider packing well ahead of time. Of course, this means that you will need to think about what you will be doing on your honeymoon as well. If you are going hiking or scuba diving, for example, you will need very specific gear. So take a good long look at your wardrobe at least a month in advance so that you will be certain that you are not missing anything vital. In terms of packing, a smart groom would have all the packing out of the way at least a week ahead of the big trip.

Women Love Gentlemen: Somewhere in your suitcase should be at least a couple of nice outfits that will make you look presentable. Since this is your honeymoon, a fancy dinner or two and maybe a show are likely bets. This means that you will need a couple of outfits that make you look more like a man and less like a savage.

Beware the Crease: Creases can make any man look like a slob. Keep the crease in mind when you are packing. Try and pack clothing that will not crease easily. Consider having a couple of your outfits dry cleaned before your trip. A dry-cleaned outfit stands a better chance of arriving relatively wrinkle free!

It Is Sexy Time: Almost every woman knows that honeymoons mean sexy lingerie, but that doesn't mean that you should have a few tricks up your sleeve either. A couple of pair of sexy underwear won't hurt your honeymoon in the least.

Pack To Avoid The Pharmacy: Contemplate your pharmacy needs well in advance, and make sure you have condoms and lubricants handy. Running from place to place in an unfamiliar city looking for such sensitive items could prove stressful.

Always Have a Back-Up Plan: An experienced traveler will tell you that all sorts of things can go wrong. In order to help safeguard you and your trip from disaster, think through what you pack in your carry on bag. If your suitcases get lost, a well-packed carry on can help you make it until you can replace your clothes or vital toiletries.

Use Your Hotel: Think through what your hotel has available for free. Any respectable hotel will have soap, shampoo and the like. This, of course, means that you don't have to pack every single toiletry item that you might need. - 30413
